Starting at 10am from the A5 (just past the E end of Llyn Ogwen) our intrepid band headed up the E ridge of Pen yr Ole Wen, over the summit to Carnedd Dafydd followed by Carnedd Llewelyn & Pen yr Helgi Du, finishing down the whaleback of Y Braich to the A5.

The October weather was surprisingly obliging, so the views were good and our spirits (and clothes) were undampened.

Paul, Moss & Mike broke trail while Rob successfully ignored his complaining knees. Richard similarly tried to ignore his shiny new trekking poles but gave in, formally christening them with a photo op above Craig yr ysfa.
