Pandy Quarry (Pen-y-fron), Bolted

A recent CMC favourite with a good selection of bolted limestone routes at reasonable grades. Evening sun if we're lucky. Parking is at 53.182726, -3.203809, near the church, then cross the road and head downhill on the path to the Quarry. We will probably go to the Colomendy Arms in Cadole afterwards.

Wednesday 7 Aug
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Maeshafn Quarry - trad

After the successful Maeshafn Clean-Up organised by Sophie last year we need to use it before it gets overgrown again! Bring some secateurs just in case. Please car-share if possible and park responsibly around 53.142899, -3.176532, otherwise please park a short walk away near the Owain Glyndwr pub down the road where we will probably end up afterwards.

Bolted routes in the disused Quarry mostly in the f6 range. A pleasant and usually fairly sheltered venue.  Best to park at the top as for Trevor Rocks and walk down the path to the quarry. Refreshments at The Sun Trevor afterwards.

SOME OF OUR RECENT MEETS

If you’re interested in joining and would like to know what we have done in the past few months, here are a few examples

Club Meets and Events

Around 80 available events in 2024.
We run a varied programme of activities including regular outdoor meets both in the UK and abroad.
Also,  we meet every Wednesday evening for climbing and bouldering at local crags (summer), climbing and bouldering  walls (winter)  or social events.

Our Hut in Snowdonia

We have our own hut in North Snowdonia for members to stay overnight for a modest fee.
It is also available for BMC Affiliated Clubs to book.
The hut was purchased by members over forty years ago so that the club could have a base in Snowdonia. In recent years we have modernised it.
Accommodates up to 22 people.
